Knockout club competitions

National Club Knockout U13 & U15 Competitions

Portman Under 15 Club Championship and ECB Under 13 Club Championship

Both of these championships were set up to encourage clubs to give their young players a prestigious competition to enter and experience the thrill of playing in a huge competition. Accredited clubs and those interested in accreditation are required to enter both competitions. The competition is a tremendous way of giving young cricketers the opportunity to experience new opposition, different grounds and the challenge of trying to prove who is best!

Unfortunately, the ECB Under 13 final between Gowerton, Northop and Miskin was washed out and so a draw took place on Monday 16th July 07 to decide which club would represent Wales in the UK competition. Northop were drawn and have progressed through to the UK finals which will take place at Oakham School.

The Portman Under 15 final took place on the 18th July 2007 at Northop Hall CC. The finalists were Newport, Northop and Gowerton. Newport were the winners. Newport went on to beat Thornbury and then won the Regional Finals at Bath. On the 22nd August 07 they competed in the UK finals at Bournemouth. Newport finished as Runner-up in the Portman Building Society U15 National Club Championship congratulations to them on this achievement.
